DarkNet99
PLAYTEST
This game is in active development. This demo serves as a stress test for the early game mechanics.
My roadmap includes more mid- and late-game content, as well as an actual prestige mechanic.

DESCRIPTION
DarkNet99 is an active incremental game about the birth of the digital underground. Set in the late 90s, it puts you in the shoes of a pioneer of the early dark web, building an empire from your dimly lit bedroom.
Rendered in a retro, late 90s OS style, DarkNet99 aims to evoke the tension and mystery of the early internet before the "Silk Road" before the big busts, and before the millennium bug changed everything.

glad you like it :D it's from a free asset on the unity asset store
Looks cool! I, being an idiot, ended up stuck with $0 and no way to progress. What I did was spend the $200 I had on the upgrade on the market that said '1x', not sure what that did but essentially I was left with no money, no supply, nothing to sell, and no way to progress. Would be nice if there was an escape in case that happens. Anyway, you've got something cool on your hands here!
thanks a lot, I've tried to design the tutorial in way to evade the most common pitfalls that lock the income, but it needs a lot more work still, glad you liked it and thanks for the feedback :D
Yeah, actually, I found the onboarding to be fine. You let the player 'play' through the steps, and it's reasonably intuitive. But yeah, it's a real cool retro idea with an original angle (running Silk Road, essentially :) ).
thank you I'm glad the vibe came across that's what I was aiming for :D
Reload the site ;)
restarting the shop when you soft lock yourself would be one way to tackle the issue that's true, I also thought about a loan mechanic which would also introduce a bit of competition between debt and income
I love this game. I spent the last 2 hours playing it.
thanks love to hear it :)
Fun game
thanks and glad you liked it :)
